It gives me great pleasure to introduce the American audience to a remarkable project showcasing the beauty and richness of Egypt’s contemporary art.

As Egyptians, we take immense pride in being the descendants of a grand civilization that continues to inspire people’s imagination all over the globe, the brilliance of this project is the attempt to familiarize western audiences with notable contemporary talents from Egypt, through a relatively ancient and well known medium “Papyrus”.

Egypt has always been the cultural powerhouse of the Arab world, I invite Americans to explore the vibrant artistic landscape in today’s Egypt through this initiative, a living testament to the continuity of Egypt’s cultural influence, as well as the massive energy and creativity embedded in the new generation of artists.

I strongly believe in the power of art to foster cross cultural understanding and to emphasize the shared values and aspirations of humanity, I am certain that “A New Legacy: Contemporary Art of Egypt” will have a profound impact in bringing people together for this noble purpose.

I wish the founders of this project the best of luck in their endeavors, and for the visitors to enjoy a glimpse of a vivid and thriving Egypt.
