Born in Cairo, Egypt; I spent my childhood traveling with my parents around the world, learning about art and cultures. In the early eighties and after graduating from The Faculty of Economic and Political Science, Cairo University, I moved to the United States with my husband.

This period was unpredictable but full of opportunities. My focus changed from a desk job to a life of volunteering. I dedicated my time to organizations I was passionate about, such as the Kidney foundation, March of Dines, and the mentorship program at Mayo Clinic among others.

Through the twists and turns of life, I never lost my love for the arts, particularly Egyptian Art. It is as rich and ancient as the Pharaonic civilization. It also kept me connected to my roots and I have always appreciated the history it represented, especially considering how much art is influenced by politics, fashion, culture, and the environment and vice versa.

I have been even more inspired by Egypt’s recent revival of contemporary art and how it reflects the pulse of Egyptian life today.

Living in the United States for most of my adult life while being a patron of the arts, I have always had a nagging feeling that there is a deeper story to tell and share. A way to create awareness and bridge cultures. Art is the best way to tell that story. It is the common language amongst people of different cultures that also has the power to influence and inspire.

I hope with “A NEW LEGACY, Divine Art of Egypt” we will accomplish just that.
