Mohamed Dmarawy
“Deeply intrigued by the creative skills of Ancient Egypt, the characters are typical Egyptians with a clear connection to the art of our pharaonic ancestors. Experimenting with papyrus sparked my imagination…I was fortunate enough to discover the secret of its beauty in the process.”
Mohamed Dmarawy
Born in Beheira in 1981, Mohamed Dmarawy graduated from Luxor’s Faculty of Fine Arts in 2003 and held his first exhibition in 2005. He has since gone on to exhibit in several solo and group exhibitions around Egypt, most recently at Arts-Mart’s Artists of Tomorrow exhibition in early 2015. El Damarawy’s work is full of character, heavily influenced by the pioneer generation of artists and has very cleverly and skilfully applied this passion to his own work. His characters are with clear references to the visual depictions of Ancient Egypt, by which he is deeply intrigued.
